SAVE YOUR MONEY FROM THE NSHSS

The National Society of High School Scholars is a SCAM.

Do not join this 'society'.

They have over 400k members, each paying $45 - $60 apiece for membership.

If you do a rough middle ground figure the revenues = $20,000,000 since 2002.

They claim to have given $400,000 in Scholarships out in over the past 7 years.

That is a drop in the monetary pan.

They prey on the pride induced credulity of parents.

The 'President', James Lewis, founded the 'Honor Key', and was fired from his post.

CLAES NOBEL? NOBEL PRIZE FAMILY? Not a chance. Alfred Nobel had no children, which means that Claes is a DISTANT relative and is in NO WAY associated with the Nobel Prizes, except through a distant, diluted bloodline.

They solicit membership to anyone, you don't have to have a 3.5 GPA, that's a lie. Trust me, my friend joined and had a 2.8

What a joke.

  2. To the author,

While I appreciate your opinion, nowhere on the site does it say that you must have a 3.5 GPA. By reading the site's FAQs, you will find that having a 3.5 GPA is only one way to gain an invitation into the NSHSS. Following is the link stating the requirements to be a member.

Using the site as your "back-up" to make your argument valid isn't very logical.
Of COURSE they're going to say that you need a 3.5 average on there and of COURSE they're going to say that they are very important. Not everything on the internet is true, keep that in mind.
